Meet Experienced Colorado Estate Planning and Elder Law Attorneys Michael Kirtland and Catherine Seal

At the Colorado Springs law office of Kirtland & Seal, L.L.C., our lawyers have more than 25 years of combined experience in providing clients compassionate counsel and knowledgeable guidance in the areas of estate planning, probate administration, and guardianships and conservatorships.

Well-respected and well-known in the Colorado and national estate planning and elder law communities, Michael Kirtland and Catherine Seal have dedicated their practice to guiding clients through the legal process and helping them make well-informed decisions for themselves and their loved ones.

A graduate of the University of Colorado Law School, attorney Catherine Seal is our firm's senior partner and has focused her practice on estate planning and elder law for the last decade. She is only person in Colorado to hold an LL.M. in Elder Law from Stetson University College of Law. In addition to numerous articles and other works, she is the author of Colorado Elder Law, part of the Colorado Practice Series published by West.

Ms. Seal is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeal for the 10th Circuit, U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado and all Colorado state courts.

Attorney Michael Kirtland received his law degree from Faulkner University in Alabama and has practiced estate planning and elder law his entire legal career. In addition to his J.D., he holds an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Alabama, which provides him significant depth and background for analyzing and guiding clients on the tax implications involved in estate planning.

Mr. Kirtland is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, U.S. Tax Court, U.S. Courts of Appeal for the 10th and 11th Circuits, U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado and Middle District of Alabama, and all Colorado and Alabama state courts.

Ms. Seal and Mr. Kirtland are two of only nine attorneys in the State of Colorado designated as Certified Elder Law Attorneys by the National Elder Law Foundation. Both are prominent leaders in various professional organizations dedicated to bettering the practice of estate planning and elder law in Colorado and nationally, including the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the Guardianship section of NAELA, and the Surrogate Decision Making Committee and Elder Law Group of the American Bar Association.
